the writings of John Muir to the windy dunes of Kitty Hawk and the Wright
Brothers first flight ... from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry to the Moscow McDonald's
... from the explorations of Lewis and Clark to the farm worker protests led by Cesar
Chavaz ... the American Minutes video series provides international audiences
with a snapshot of American history and culture. The first ten videos, each approximately
one and half minutes in length, are designed for insertion between USIA WorldNet
television broadcasts to countries around the globe. Additional Minutes are
planned.
WORLDNET/DIALOGUE: THE PROCESS Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ This 30 minute video documentary follows the
development of an international interactive question and answer program featuring one-way
video and two-way audio. Since 1983, USIA's WorldNet. TV network has produced hundreds of Dialogues
giving foreign audiences unparalleled access to U.S. experts, government leaders, and
opinion makers. The documentary tracks research in Washington, DC and in San Jose, Costa
Rica, about a Dialogue on drug prevention. It then goes behind the cameras to show
"live" segments of the Dialogue as it is broadcast The documentary includes
interviews with TV producers, State Department and Embassy Staff, and local audiences.

VIDEO ~ This 60 minute video documentary examines the roll of
television in drug prevention campaigns. "Cocaine The Big Lie," a PSA campaign
by the U.S. National Institute for Drug Awareness is featured as the main case history
with comments from NIDA, AD Council, ad agency, media, and university experts.

16MM FILM ~ Through the experiences of two entrepreneurs,
one from Jamaica and one from the U.S., this 28 minute film documentary describes the
affect of free trade legislation which opened U.S. markets to Caribbean nations.

exodus of artists, composers, dancers, writers and other cultural figures from the Soviet

VIDEO ~ A first person video biography of the internationally
renowned Russian cellist, conductor, and composer. The program follows Rostropovich's life
from Baku to Washington as he comes to grips with the question of artistic freedom.

HOW TO MANAGE A TV STATION FOR PROFIT Researcher
16MM FILM ~ Operating a successful for profit local TV
station in a democratic free market economy requires a unique blend of business and
creative skills along with a sense of community responsibility. This proposed video series
is designed for former Soviet Block nations who want to privatize their national
television stations. It provides the viewer with a dynamic look at the day to day business
operations of a local commercial U.S. television station illustrating the business
techniques used to find advertisers, sell air time, acquire programming, and manage
personnel.

news program designed for weekly satellite to European television networks prior to
introduction of WorldNet. Subsequently scripted numerous Sat File stories.

16MM FILM ~ A 20 minute film documentary introducing the U.S.
military command responsible for U.S. interests in the Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia.
Explains the foreign policy reasons for the commands formation, its mission, combat
capabilities, and military assistance role to countries in the area.
REMINISCENCES OF THE WAR Scriptwriter
16MM FILM ~ A 30 minute film documentary prepared for
broadcast on Brazilian National TV. The film documents the participation of the Brazilian
Expeditionary Force during W.W.II as part of the Allied 5th Army fighting in Italy. Those
interviewed include General Mark Clark, Ambassador Vernon Walters, & Brazilian
Military Leaders.

visit of Samuel Canaan Doe to Washington, DC. Segments were scripted and edited at the end
of each day's activities, then satellited to Liberia for broadcast on Liberian National
Television.

UN Protectorate in Micronesia administered by the United States. It presents the views of
