VOLUNTEERS:The Commander's Resource — Writer/Director/Producer
VIDEO ~ In today's Army, deployments are becoming more frequent. At the same time, daily lifeVolunteers on Army installations is becoming more demanding. This video is designed to influence Army installation commanders and post leaders that volunteer programs are an integral part of Mission Readiness, Soldier Retention, and Installation Quality of Life. An on-camera narrator links program benefits to enhanced family stability during deployments, increased soldier morale and retention, and improved quality of daily life on the installation. He describes the many different volunteer groups that contribute to community service;  highlights the key role played by the Installation Volunteer Coordinator; outlines the need for training and support; and he emphasizes the recognition required to insure program success. Interspersed throughout the video are sound bites from soldiers, volunteers, Post Commanders, and others testifying to the benefits of a well organized and supported installation volunteer program.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT — Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ Humphrey Bogart and the cast of Casablanca serve as the inspiration for this four partCasablanca video training series targeted at DoD personnel responsible for processing FOIA requests submitted by the public. In the overview video, a character known as Trench Coat (actually Rick's son) keeps a close eye on a Large Man and a Veiled Lady as they attempt to gain access to the contents of a mysterious envelope that has found its way into the Pentagon mailroom. Speaking from exotic locations such as a corner table in the Cafe Informatif, the gun deck of one of the last W.W.II Liberty Ships, and the cockpit of a Presidential helicopter, Trench Coat guides the viewer through the ins and outs of a handling freedom of information requests so that disclosure is maximized and legitimate secrets are protected. Follow on videos brief the audience on specific aspects of FOIA, such as fees, exemptions, and procedures.

ARMY COMMUNITY SERVICE — Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ Using a docu-drama format, this program provides an overview of the many family services offered to military personnel including relocation assistance, financial counseling, spouse job placement, community orientation, child abuse and battered spouse intervention, and special assistance to handicapped family members.

DEERS — Writer/Director/Producer
VIDEO ~ Cutting waste and expense in Military healthcare benefits is the major function of theDEERS Defense Eligibility Enrollment System, a 12 million record database operated by Electronic Data System Corporation for the Department of Defense. In this 15 minute orientation video, Hank Kingsley, a fictional military Healthcare administrator, finds himself in a virtual briefing room that brings DEERS to life.

RAPIDS — Writer/Director/Producer
VIDEO ~ RAPIDS stands for Real Time Automated Personnel Identification System. It's used by the Department of Defense to issue military identification cards, A RAPIDS workstation includes a computer, ID card scanner, digital camera, and laser printer. This training video provides RAPIDS users with a step-by-step explanation of how the latest version of the system speeds the verification and issuing of new ID cards.

HICOM — Writer/Director/Producer
VIDEO ~ When the U.S. Airforce Air Mobility Command controllers need to dispatch cargoC-17 aircraft to distant countries on military, humanitarian, and disaster relief missions, the buttons they push are on the HICOM Dispatch Safety System. Manufactured by Siemens, this hi-tech display was originally developed for fast paced action on international stock exchange trading systems. This 4 minute marketing video was designed to introduce HICOM to other military and government agencies.With a few modifications, HICOM's customizable dispatch interface now serves the Air Mobility Command linking its control centers around the globe with the largest fleet of military transport and tanker aircraft in the world.

PRESIDENTIAL TOWERS – Writer/Director/Producer
VIDEO ~ You've heard of the Pentagon's "smart bombs." Now the Pentagon has a smart building. With a 21st century communications infrastructure designed and implemented by Bell Atlantic Federal Systems, Presidential Towers in Crystal City, Virginia features the latest in voice, video, and data connectivity to the desktop. This 3.5 minute upbeat music video presents a start-to-finish look at building construction, cable running, and equipment installation. Sound bites from Bell Atlantic project personnel describe key design elements and capabilities. The building's mission is to serve as a swing facility for rotating office groups during the Pentagon's ten year renovation project.

On November 4, 1775, the Continental Congress fixed the components of the first Army Ration and America has been working to improve it ever since. It's flexible, efficient, and cost-effective production systems allow a quick ramp up during times of war or national emergency. LOGISTICS REASSIGNMENT AUTOMATION — Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ Operation Desert Storm was a tremendous success for U.S. Armed Forces. Fighting thousands of miles from home, our military was able to subdue the enemy in record time and with limited casualties to Coalition forces. Buttressing the personal bravery and fortitude of our troops was a massive supply effort by the dedicated employees of the Defense Logistics Agency. All in all, DLA provided more than 250,000 different items to the fighting men and women of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. This informational video illustrates how Logistics Reassignment Automation contributed by speeding the Consumable Item Transfer process for DLA and its contractors.

These are some of the quotes from students and faculty included in this demonstration video about the Integrated Damage Control Trainer videotaped at the Navy Surface Warfare School. The video promotes the Damage Control Assistant module, the first in a series of integrated simulators for improving damage control training aboard Navy ships.

Be prepared for action! So opens the Damage Control Assistant module of this Navy integrated damage control training simulator. It provides interactive computer assisted training for Damage Control Assistants by managing a damage control scenario aboard an Arleigh Burke class destroyer. The user interface: includes three computer monitors and over one hundred video clips of damage control personnel who the student must communicate with in other shipboard locations.

IDCTT: REPAIR PARTY LEADER — Scriptwriter
CD-ROM ~ You are onboard an Arliegh Burke class destroyer cruising swiftly through a pre-dawn sea. In a darkened berthing area below, you lay in a deep sleep. Suddenly, you’re awakened by a blaring 1MC announcement that a collision is imminent. You stumble from your bunk, pull on your khakis, and make your way aft past other scrambling personnel. Suddenly, you and your comrades are sharply thrown to port as your ship sustains a starboard side collision. Picking yourself up off the deck, you hear General Quarters sound. Quickening your pace, you continue along a partially lit lower passageway to Repair 3 where you are the Repair Party Leader.... With this scene setter, a trainee begins an interactive experience that brings the confusion, stress, and dangers of a collision at sea to life. Using Integrated Damage Control Training Technology, this interactive simulator features hundreds of realistic video and audio clips. It is the second in a series designed to train Navy personnel about shipboard damage control.

TACTICAL PATROL CRAFT TRAINER — Scriptwriter

You are the Commanding Officer of a Tactical Patrol Craft, the USS El Nino. Your task is to transport, insert, extract, and return SEAL Squad Quick Silver. The SEAL Squad’s Mission is to conduct a recon in support of a non-combatant evac operation to be launched within the next 48 hours. This operation is being conducted during a time of intense international political negotiations. For now intelligence is slim, but you should expect message updates during the mission. Thus begins an interactive simulation designed to train Navy Tactical PC commanders about the command and control challenges of special operations missions afloat. The simulator interacts with navigation components and other equipment found aboard the patrol craft.

AGES/MILES — Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ Combat tactical training for Army helicopters has arrived at a new level of realism with the introduction of MILES/AGES II — the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Air-to-Ground Engagement System II. This new training tool allows helicopters to detect laser beams from weapons equipped with MILES simulators and calculate near misses, hits, and kills during field training exercises. This video provides an overview of MILES/AGES II installation for Blackhawk, Chinook, and Apache flight crews and maintenance personnel.

CABANAS II — Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ This documentary explores the protection of human rights during combat. Filmed during Cabanas II, it features several Latin American military units working a combined exercise with forces of the U.S. Southern Command to develop concern and respect for human rights by individual soldiers and their commanders.

This video presents an unclassified briefing on how the U.S. got involved with demining operations in Cambodia, the history of the operation, and what training assistance our forces are providing.

SMODIM HELICOPTER INSTALLATION — Scriptwriter
VIDEO ~ Today’s tactical helicopters can participate in realistic training exercises — without the expense and danger of extensive munitions — by employing two systems: the MILES/AGES II laser simulation system and the SMODIM, or Smart On-Board Data Interface Module. SMODIM communications can be monitored, in near real-time, at several Army Combat Training Centers where training analysts track the aircraft’s position and its AGES II casualty assessment status. This data can also be used for After Action Reviews. This training video illustrates the SMODIM installation for the CH-47 Chinook, UH-60 Blackhawk, and AH-64 Apache helicopters. It also includes a short SMODIM check-out segment for each aircraft.
